What’s Next for iHUB and CcHUB: The Evolution of iHUB


iHUB, a pioneering technology innovation hub in Kenya and a subsidiary of Africa’s leading innovation center, Co-Creation HUB (CcHUB), is proud to announce a significant milestone in its journey, the unveiling of its new, state-of-the-art space Located along James Gichuru Road at the iconic Jahazi Building, in the heart of Lavington, Nairobi. This moment marks a pivotal chapter in the “Evolution of iHUB,” a testament to iHUB’s continuous growth and a celebration of 14 years of impact in Africa’s tech ecosystem.

Since its founding in 2010, iHUB has been at the forefront of shaping the African technology landscape. By creating an environment of support, collaboration, and community, iHUB has played a significant role in fostering the growth of startups, innovators, and tech entrepreneurs in Kenya and beyond. Over the years, iHUB has co-designed several innovative programs with critical stakeholders that have laid the foundation for the thriving startup ecosystem that exists today.

iHUB takes the next step in its evolution, solidifying its position as an entrepreneur support organization,  a premium coworking space, and an event and community space for the tech and creative community. The launch event celebrates iHUB’s rebranding as part of CcHUB and showcases its mission to continue driving technological innovation and business growth, leveraging its expansive Pan-African network.

Speaking on the occasion, Ojoma Ochai, Managing Director of CcHUB, shared, “Since the very beginning, iHUB has been a place where ideas come to life and communities are built. Through the years, we have seen innovators, technologists, creatives, and entrepreneurs thrive here. As we move forward, our goal at CcHUB Group remains the same: to be Africa’s leading support system for creative and technology entrepreneurs, helping them create solutions to enhance African prosperity, all while nurturing the community that started it all.”

As iHUB continues to evolve, our core mission remains the same: to foster innovation, drive collaboration, and support entrepreneurs across various sectors. 

Aidah Ng’ang’a, Head of Community and Ecosystems iHUB / CcHUB, reflects on the organization’s impact over the past 14 years:

“We’ve collaborated with key ecosystem players to craft innovative programs that continue to support and build the startup ecosystem in Kenya and across Africa. With a vibrant community of over 10,000 entrepreneurs and 450+ startups across sectors like health, fintech, agritech, and ed-tech, iHUB has emerged as the cornerstone of innovation. Our entrepreneurs have grown into ambassadors, extending our influence and impact locally and globally.

Beryl Oywer, Country Lead, NABU and a beneficiary of the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship Cohort 2, shares her experience: “Being part of the iHUB community has been a transformative experience. Collaborating with fellow EdTech startups in this vibrant community has afforded NABU numerous opportunities. We’ve connected with strategic partners, gained visibility through participation in industry events and panel discussions, and showcased our innovative solutions.”

This next phase promises even more incredible strides as iHUB leverages its new space, extended resources, and pan-African connections to accelerate innovation across industries, from fintech to education, health, the creative economy, and beyond.
