Expansion 101 by CcHub

In our 10 years experience of supporting startups across the continent, we understand the importance of market expansion and the challenges for African startups that surround the decision and process of expanding into new markets. There is little information available to entrepreneurs about this process and a lot of myths about its advantages and disadvantages exist. Where the information exists, it is not consolidated in a way that startups can easily access and understand it. 

Expansion 101 by CcHUB is an initiative that seeks to provide information and context to startups looking to expand into new markets (African countries). This will be done through a publicly available online repository containing tips on expansion as well as country specific information that companies planning to expand into these markets will find valuable. The repository will kick off with information on Nigeria, Kenya and Rwanda and will be rolled out to more countries in the future.

In addition, we will showcase the expansion efforts of different companies through a series of webinar sessions with founders, expansion managers, heads of partnerships and chief operations officers of companies that have expanded to other countries on the continent, beyond their primary market. This will provide practical insights as they will share their experiences and learnings from their expansion journey.

To kick off this initiative, we will be hosting our first webinar on November 27th at 12 pm WAT/2 pm EAT. We will showcase the expansion journey of Lifebank; Africa’s healthcare supply chain engine. Lifebank helps hospitals discover essential medical suppliers and deliver them in the right condition and on time.  Temie Giwa Tubosun who is the Founder & Ceo of Lifebank will share her experiences, learnings, and as well as answer questions on their expansion process and journey into Kenya. 

Temie is a graduate of International Public Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. She has over 10 years of health management experience with the Department For International Development (DFID), World Health Organization, UNDP, and the Lagos State Government. In 2014, the BBC listed her as one of the 100 Women changing the world. She was also recognized as an African Innovator by Quartz and the World Economic Forum.
