The Higher Education Institutions (HEI) Innovation Practice announces the HEI Innovation Summit

[Friday, April 19, 2024—Nairobi Kenya]

The Higher Education Institution (HEI)  Innovation practice at Co-creation Hub is delighted to announce the HEI Innovation Summit taking place in Nairobi Kenya on the 5th – 6th of June 2024 with support from GIZ Make-IT in Africa, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Hosted at iHUB in Nairobi, the summit will feature engaging panel discussions, keynote presentations, and interactive workshops focusing on innovation in higher education. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain valuable insights, network with industry experts, and discover research-based innovative solutions to the challenges facing the continent and emerging from HEIs.

Participants will also learn about the critical role that HEIs have to play in fostering entrepreneurship and industry partnerships in higher education, and how HEIs can collaborate with industry leaders to drive innovation and contribute to the emerging innovation ecosystem on the continent.

We invite all stakeholders to connect with fellow educators, industry leaders, and innovators from across the country and around the world, and forge valuable partnerships that can drive innovation and excellence in higher education. Regarding the summit’s theme, which centers on reconsidering the role of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Africa’s developing innovation ecosystem, Jude Adejuwon, the practice lead, emphasized, “As technology and innovation flourish in Africa, our higher education institutions must acknowledge their pivotal role and strategically position

themselves to support the innovators whose solutions will drive prosperity throughout the continent.”

The Higher Education Institutions Innovation Summit promises to be an inspiring and informative event that will shape the future of higher education, explore new horizons, challenge the status quo, and redefine the future of learning.
