For the past year, CcHUB has been hosting creativity chat event in Nigeria, we are delighted to launch the same in our Nairobi office too. Creativity Chat by the CcHUB Family is an event that brings together entrepreneurs in the technology community with experts in the creative economy space. The event provides a platform for artists/creatives and experts to have conversations that challenge the status quo, share their creative journey – their learnings, the role of tech in their work and having conversations with other people; young entrepreneurs, techies, creatives or people who just have an interest in meeting with them. It creates an avenue for collaboration, sharing and learning, from creatives who have been able to defy language, borders, gender, and other barriers to remain influential and relevant in a world that changes rapidly.
The aim of the event is to provide a convergence point and space for open conversations, learning from different players in the creative space and to network. It also seeks to provide the creative community with a platform to address deeper needs for society, discuss failures, triumphs, and lessons learned, learn new ways of problem-solving, and to open avenues for collaboration between creatives with techies.
For our first event, we will be hosting John Allan Namu.
John-Allan is a Kenyan investigative journalist and the co-founder of Africa Uncensored, a company of journalists with one goal: to show Africa as it really is. He has been a journalist for 16 years, based out of Nairobi, from where he has reported on issues and events in Kenya and the region. He has interviewed hundreds of people at the heart of important issues across East Africa, and investigated crimes committed in the highest reaches and lowest rungs of African society. His main focus is public interest journalism. John-Allan is one of the most successful MediaTech entrepreneurs, having worked for large media houses and co-founded Africa Uncensored. He has been able to transition from a journalist to an entrepreneur almost without the public noticing it, how was he able to do this? How different is running your own media company from working in a corporate? How does he balance being a journalist and running a company? What are the secrets to succeeding in an established entity without it taking away your identity and how do you remain objective as an entrepreneur?
Join us to get answers to these questions, and gain insights from this formidable Journapreneur, join us for the inaugural creativity chat event in Nairobi on the 11th Dec 2019.
