Big Enough, Bold Enough – Announcing Barcamp Nairobi 2020

Barcamp Nairobi is back for 2020 and will be held on Saturday, 14th March from 8 am at the iHub. Over the years, this unconference has become a leading vendor and technology agnostic platform where innovators, investors and technology professionals and enthusiasts interact and contribute to issues around a common theme.

Barcamp is an unconference – participants run it. Anyone and everyone can attend. Attendees set the agenda for what’s discussed, lead the sessions and workshops that fill the schedule, and create an environment of innovation and productive discussion.

The 2020 theme is Big Enough, Bold Enough. We will unpack the events of the last 10 years, celebrate our successes and project the possible pathways for the next decade.

Why 10 years? There have been two major industry-shaping milestones; first was the landing of the undersea cable in Mombasa in June 2007. The second was the launch of the iHub in March of 2010 (after a successful Barcamp) which led to a rise of innovation spaces across Kenya.

We will assess the mindset of startups and SMEs and challenge underlying assumptions around size, scale and impact. We have experienced a proliferation of applications-based services around logistics, travel, fintech to name a few. What are they doing now and what do the next 10 years look like for them?

As always the event is open to anyone who is hungry, fired up, unconventional, curious, driven, a thinker, a doer, innovative and is looking for the space to engage, challenge and share ideas with others. Any topics you would like to see discussed at barcamp 2020? “Register here

If you would like to help out during the event, we have just the thing for you. “Register here” as a volunteer and be ready to roll up your sleeves.
