You are a person with a great eye for design, focused and self-motivated with a passion for code excellence. You have a strong inclination towards software branding and messaging - you will ipso facto be in charge of this under the Software as a Service initiative. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Defining the user experience of the ERP and being in charge of introducing the latest processes and technology in order to build scalable, distributed fault-tolerant software systems.
Emphasizing a consumer-focused approach in building software
Designing, creating, and evolving visuals, presentations, and multimedia tools in alignment with Brand Visual Design guidelines
Establishing and promoting design guidelines, best practices, and standards
Conducting user research and evaluating user feedback and translating them into high-level requirements
Working with both junior front end members and the back end team to upskill and provide direction
Ensuring all interfaces are consistent and flowing
Determining the prioritization and estimation of new features and improvements.
Designing and reviewing code inclusive of efficient and reusable front-end infrastructure and components.
Translating requirements into interaction flows and artifacts, and transforming them into beautiful, intuitive, and functional user interfaces
Presenting and defending designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
Creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
Conceptualizing original ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex design roadblocks
Executing all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering
Collaborating with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals, and experience
Illustrating design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
Designing graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs, and widgets
Developing UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and what they look like
Creating original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches, and tables)
Preparing and presenting rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
Identifying and troubleshooting UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
Conducting layout adjustments based on user feedback
Supporting reuse through documenting common frontend components that save the business time in executing future projects.
Interacting and engaging with consumers/users and roping in the technical support teams to understand the needs of the consumer/user, availing insights that ultimately lead to an increased positive impact on consumer experience.
Working with junior frontend designers to mentor and guide them through the proper execution of their tasks.
Working hand-in-hand with backend developers, build features and efficiencies for the realization of the anticipated end product.
Providing technical leadership and documentation to senior engineering leadership and key stakeholders, continuously informing them on progress and important details of projects at key phases of site/software development.
Identifying and communicating frontend best practices to the team, enhancing efficiency and performance across the department.
Performing other duties as he/she deems necessary for the proper execution of his duties and duties as delegated by the supervisor
Bachelor’ degree in Computer Science or any other relevant field
At least 3 years of working experience in a frontend development department 2 of which were spent leading a design team/ project
Experience working in Agile/Scrum software development environments
Good understanding of ES6
Some experience with TypeScript
Experience with unit testing
Deep knowledge of web technologies (REST/HTTP, web sockets, ...)
Good understanding of popular programming paradigms (e.g. object-orientation, functional programming, ...)
A great portfolio that includes: sitemaps, user flows, wireframes, web or mobile prototypes and websites that demonstrate a good command of CSS
Expertise in one or more of the following design tools: Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma
