We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, software tester with 2 to 5 years of work experience. Someone who likes to be critical about the quality of the apps we develop; who likes to work in a complex environment with inspiring colleagues, inspiring clients and lots of learning opportunities.
With your ambitions and drive improving every day, you bring energy and inspiration to the team. You will assist in shaping our strategy and build a close relationship with both our team in Nairobi, and also with our specialists in the Netherlands.
You will be part of our agile development team, communicating with developers, scrum master and product owners. You create new and existing websites and mobile apps to assure the quality of the software delivered by the team. On a daily basis this includes:
You will design and develop web-based and mobile software solutions together with our Dutch colleagues for our clients in Nairobi and the Netherlands.
You will have an important role establishing a team for our new office in Nairobi which can deliver great Google Cloud solutions.
You will discuss our products with our Dutch specialists and explain best possible solutions.
You will train and develop young developers to assist you to produce new products for clients.
You need to bring:
Expert in programming language Java, Kotlin and Spring framework.
SQL and databases like MySQL, Oracle, Postgres
Web servers like Tomcat or Compute engine
Concepts like MVC and REST.
Agile development using SCRUM.
Continuous Integration and Content Delivery.
Version control systems like Git.
Ability to contribute to architecture discussions, helping the team to architect and design a system from the ground up.
Knowledge of Google Cloud would be great advantage!
Besides knowledge we are looking for the following competencies:
Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Java developer
Minimum a Bachelor's degree in relevant areas e.g. ICT, web design, etc.
Strong English written and oral communication skills.
Cultural awareness and the ability to work with Western management.
Entrepreneurial spirit, willing to assist in growing the office.
Energized and passionate about all you do in life.
Flexible, open for new challenges and able to think out of the box.
Responsible for the work to be finished on time.
Willingness and ability to train and supervise young developers.
