Ajibika is a system designed to hold the county officials on these 3 counties accountable. The system is a customization of the Pombola software, which is Mzalendo’s codebase. “Ajibika” is a Kiswahili word that calls you to “take responsibility or to be responsible ”. This essentially is to hold the public officials accountable and to increase public participation in the issues that affect them most. The idea is to vet public officials, budgets, county plans and the projects in the county, demystify bills and legislation and to encourage public discussion on the same.
