Getting customers is not often easy for any new business, it is even more difficult when you try out a new field. Keeping those customers happy, engaged and using the product for a long time is even harder. For entrepreneurs; young and or old, customer acquisition and retention can be stressful. It not only requires awareness, strategy and constant engagement but a clear plan on how to go about it. It is crucial for an enterprise to build itself a loyal base of users and or customers. Starting right as an enterprise is extremely important, making sure that the customers understand the value of the product(s) and service(s) is the key to attracting and keeping customers.

iHub together with LakeHub on the 10th September held a session with entrepreneurs in Kisumu. The session which is under the Traction Camp program focused on ways to get customers, retain them, attract new customers and making money from the process. The workshop was an eye-opener for the entrepreneurs especially those who are starting out or planning to get into business.

More than 35 entrepreneurs attended the event in Kisumu. They were taken through several customer acquisition and retention strategies with a primary emphasis on The Mobile Growth Stack;"- a framework that helps marketers, founders and growth practitioners develop and evolve a strategy for growing the user base of a mobile product or product portfolio. The stack can be applied at any stage during a product’s lifecycle and to many different business and financing models, although some layers and elements of the stack are more relevant at different stages of the business."- Andy Carvell, Co-Founder at Phiture Mobile Growth Consultancy — Formerly Mobile Growth @ SoundCloud.
