Friday is Open House! We are open to all of you for free. Open day gives you a perfect opportunity to test the iHub space. Come in, grab a seat and work. If you register for a tour, you also get to hear first-hand from our staff about building, innovating and collaborating at the iHub.

Meeting an investor can be nerve-racking. Learn what boxes that just about every investor likes to check before they invest, either money or additional time. Mr. Sean Nowak is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Zephyr Acorn. Zephyr Acorn provides equity financing and business support to innovative early-stage companies in East Africa. Previously, Sean was a Principal at Kaizen Venture Partners, where he invested in and actively supported businesses in East and West Africa. During business school, he worked as a teaching assistant for the Private Equity in Emerging Markets and Business Strategy & Corporate Law courses. Prior to business school, Sean was a lawyer at Latham & Watkins in New York, where he practiced patent litigation. He has a BA from Wake Forest University, JD from the University of Notre Dame and MBA from the Wharton School.

Sean currently mentors entrepreneurs in Nairobi and the US through XL Africa and Nest.

Developers! Join us for an exciting “Afternoon of Java “ with Allen Wangu,  Oracle MW & Cloud Consultant | OPN Innovation and Modernization Center, EMEA. He has over 10 years of experience as a Java/JEE Architect/Developer/Team Lead. He will be discussing Java, Container Cloud Services & Application Container for devs.

Allen Wangu has over 10 years of experience as a Java/JEE Architect/Developer/Team Lead, working for different clients, spanning different industries (Financial Services, Education, Recruitment etc) and managing multiple teams simultaneously across geographical locations and time zones, providing guidance to principal architects and development teams, dealing with clients and ensure high standards of software development are met. He spent most of his career working for clients in the US, UK, and Europe. Today, he works for Oracle as a MW and Cloud Consultant, working in the OPN innovation and Modernization Center in EMEA where I help Oracle Partners transform, adopt or migrate their solution to Oracle Technology.
