Slush Global Impact Accelerator Finds & Helps The Best Impact Startup From Emerging Markets

Slush Global Impact Accelerator (GIA)was initialized in collaboration withthe Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finlandandseveral global partnersin 2015. The purpose of the program is to support impact startups from emerging markets. This year tens of entrepreneurs from 20 countries will join Slush in Helsinki in late November to accelerate their businesses.

GIA start-ups are on the frontline of developing both local and global solutions to implement theAgenda 2030, and to meet theSustainable Development Goals. The Slush GIA program focuses on supporting them by connecting the Nordic and global impact networks and enhancing the mobilization of capital towards impactful business. In 2016, we received over 1,300 applications from which 40 founders were selected to participate in the 10-day long bootcamp in Helsinki. This year, Slush Global Impact Accelerator brings tens of impact-driven entrepreneurs from 20 countries to Helsinki.

The first Slush GIA Pitching Competition wasorganized in KosovoonJune7. Serbia, Tunisia, Zambia, Ethiopia, Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania, Lebanon, Palestine, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Jamaica, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Vietnam, will follow with Kenya hosting the local pitching competition on 17th August at the iHub. Winners of these local pitching competitions will fly to the North in November, joining Slush 2017. Described as a life-changing and eye-opening experience, adventuring through the Slush GIA has not only been the next step but also a huge leap for the startups that have participated the program.
