The iHub UX Lab will be running a six week UX Training course and a four week course on Basics of Building Human-Centered Experiences. The User Experience course will run from October 19th - November 23rd and is designed for entrepreneurs and professionals to help increase user experience competency among start-up teams and increase the user experience research and design competencies and skills among professionals working in business or technology organizations.
Course A: User Experience Training for Entrepreneurs
2 hour sessions, classes take place from 9:30am - 12:30pm on Mondays.
This course is designed for young entrepreneurs and techies working in the Nairobi start-up scene. Content and training methods are aimed at quickly increasing the user experience competency among start-up teams so new software and technologies will be more user centric and engaging to the target user groups. The course will take place once weekly and will include take-home activities to be completed. Entrepreneurs completing this entire curriculum will be able to serve as the UX experts among their team and implement agile UX methods for tech startups.
Course B: User Experience Training for Professionals
2 hour sessions, classes take place from 6:00pm - 8:00pm on Mondays and Wednesdays.
This course is designed for professionals working in business or technology organizations that wish to increase their user experience research and design competencies and skills. Training will be presented in a way that helps professionals apply new skills to active projects at work and learn how to engage customers (or technology users) in the process of product improvement. Professionals who complete the entire course will be effective at the most current and common user experience practices.
Course C: Basics of Building Human-Centered Experiences
2 hour sessions, classes take place from 2:00pm - 4:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The class will meet twice a week (save for Week 2 & 4) for 4 weeks (6 class sessions) and will commence on the 3rd of November.
This course will focus on the basics of building human-centered experiences and is designed for technologists, engineers, developers, and hobbyists who would like to learn about how to design, create, and prototype tangible items. Participants who successfully complete this course will be able to apply user centered/ human centered thinking to their processes and product development. This course will be taught in collaboration with Gearbox.
All three courses can be taken as an entire curriculum or taken as weekly lessons according to your needs. Taking all classes per course will earn you a discount. iHub red and Green Members will be awarded an automatic discount when signing up.
About the Trainers
This courses will be spearheaded and taught by the iHub UX lab experienced tutors who have also taken lead in Tajriba, one of the biggest UX events in Africa. We will also be expecting a guest speaker from Gearbox - announcement will be done after confirmation.
