Microsoft’s My Skillz4Afrika is an initiative which is focused on an area that has been difficult for many organizations and freelancers to navigate: World Class Skills. Microsoft, in its commitment to sharing the skills and expertise that have defined it as a company, will run a series of trainings at the iHub over the next few months, directly aimed at developing and improving  critical skills in the community. On the 10th of April, Oliver Szimmetat, one of Microsoft’s Principal Engineering Managers with rich experience in Software Testing will facilitate one of these trainings. This training will cover the basics of Software Quality Assurance. With several years of software testing and program management experience, Oliver has earned respect as a test manager and lead program manager. He is a Sun Certified Java Programmer and has won awards, some of which include Engineering Excellence – Highest Rated Teacher Award, November 2012 and 2013 Engineering Award – Business Practices. The Engineering Awards are some of the highest achievements for Microsoft engineering employees worldwide. The awards reward those exemplifying excellence in engineering across Microsoft, through tools, processes, practices, and results. His experience and passion to share his skills make this a must-attend event for all software developers interested in software whose features and functionality meet business objectives. Join us on Thursday, 10th April at the iHub UX lab, Bishop Magua Centre, Ground Floor, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
