Oracle: Software Powers The Internet

Recently, I was introduced to the Oracle'sBusiness Development Manager for Africa, Njeri Maina after I asked an iHub member, Jessica Musila of Mzalendohow we can connect with what is happening in ICT deployment in our counties. The iHub is now in deep talks with Oracle to start a partnership where we grow the Java Developer and User Group in Kenya.

I once thought I should go into Java considering it was an early "web" language launching in 1995. And as I got into the server end of Web,I began using MySQL for my database needs. Thenmany open source developers found themselves using technologies that Oracle now controls and are uneasy with this. However, Oracle has "behaved" in managing the evolution of these technologies.

Oracle is doing well. very well actually with a press release -Oracle Becomes Second Largest Software Company in the World. Here in Kenya, Oracle is in most enterprises we feel are Kenyan in their narrative. However, very few of us know where Oracle "plays". So on the 21st November 2013 at Panafric Hotel, Nairobi, Oracle Kenya will show what they have been doing both in the public and private enterprise space. All Java users and developers are welcome.
