Are you a UX specialist for mobile and web? Are you a developer for feature phones apps and web apps? Are you an entrepreneur interested in creating new business models on mobile? Then Naideation13 is for you. In association with the Nike Foundation and iHub, Naideation13 is a one-day ideation seminar and prototyping hack-day looking to explore powerful new ideation techniques for customer-focused user experience, and to find the most exciting new ideas that can be built to prototype then production. The session will include:
  • Powerful ideation techniques
  • Business model generation
  • Competitive analysis
  • Customer profiling
The session is led by Andrew Missingham, a UK-based entrepreneur and management consultant whose clients include Nike Inc. the BBC, Bacardi, the Royal Academy of Arts, UK Music and Sony (see full biography beneath). Squad Digital, Africa's top digital agency, has offered a three month placement to the most promising ideator. Safaricom will be giving away airtime for Naideation participants, and up to five new Nokia Asha phones for the best contributors on the day. The session will take place at iHub, starting at 8.30am sharp. Entry is free, strictly subject to capacity. Lunch and coffee will be provided. Naideation13 is part of an ideation and hack-day series also taking place in Accra, and Bangalore. The best ideas generated across the days will have the opportunity to bid for a development grant from the Nike Foundation. The best idea across the three days will have the opportunity to bid for the chance to present their idea to Nike in Portland, Oregon. THE EVENT IS THIS THURSDAY. Andrew Missingham - Biography Specialising in insightful provocations which lead to robust, co-created strategy, Andrew Missingham introduces powerful ideation techniques to a range of international businesses to ensure that ICT delivers social and cultural value, in addition to benefitting the bottom line. Clients include Nike Inc, the Nike Foundation, the BBC, the Royal Academy of Arts, the Royal Opera House, Sony Music, the British Council and Bacardi. Andrew started his career first as a musician and record producer, with credits including UNKLE, Urban Species, MC Solaar, Paul Oakenfold and Jocelyn Brown. As a result, his expertise is rooted in a deep knowledge of culture and cultural behaviour. Andrew has travelled to 53 countries around the world, and worked in 41 of them (16 in sub-Saharan Africa). Deeply entrepreneurial, Andrew's strategic insights are as likely to lead to the rationale for new product development, as campaigns for existing products and services. Of the eight companies he has started, his favourite is - the world's first mobile ringtones business specialising in ringtones that sound like telephones, which he successfully exited in 2005. Andrew brings to iHub a commitment to helping move the IT start-up ideation process to market-readiness through a sharp-eyed focus on the customer and rigorously testing innovative new business models.
